This addresses the increasing need for long-term corporate records management and legal compliance. Loaded on customised hardware, the Network Traffic Surveillance (NTS) captures TCP/IP packets, either on the network, passing through the corporate firewall or along the Internet connection. The NTS System reconstructs application-level data, such as Web pages, e-mails, files uploaded or downloaded, documents, chat sessions, etc from this deep packet inspection. Then the System stores the collected data for many years as scalable and easily expandable data storages and, according to corporate policy, provides instant access to that information to selected authorised users. In this way it is possible to store, search and inspect all relevant Internet traffic crossing a network, and create a multi-year, searchable archive of actual content. The NTS system makes it possible to find instantly the data that was transferred months or even years in the past. It also allows authorised users to search and navigate in the content archive in with a standard Web browser.
