OrbisIP produces report on the commercial future of Cryptography for the Cyber Security KTN
OrbisIP CTO recently completed a study for the Cyber Security Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) on cryptography. The report, entitled “Future Commercial Opportunities in Cryptography” was produced to meet the KTN’s aims to foster collaboration and technology transfer between cyber security researchers and users. OrbisIP delivered this work in partnership with David Lacey (former CISO of Royal Mail), OrbisIP partners the Information Security Group at Royal Holloway College, London, Bristol University and other UK academic research institutions.
The principal areas with the highest future commercial cryptographic potential were identified as:
- Secure Financial Transactions;
- Data Loss Prevention;
- Digital Rights Management;
- Gaming;
- Cloud computing;
- Social networking;
- Machine to machine encryption.
“We were delighted to complete this project for the KTN and work with some of our partners at universities across the UK and with entrepreneurs and other players in the cryptography business.” said Rob Rowlingson, OrbisIP Chief Technology Officer. “We believe this report will be of considerable benefit to the UK cyber security community in determining effective ways to ensure the successful commercialisation of the UK cryptography research base to improve wealth creation opportunities in the UK, in line with the KTN mission.”
