    OrbisIP on Indian Cyber Security Trade Mission with Science and Innovation Network


    OrbisIP was invited to take part as Security Technology industry experts in an inaugural pan-Indian Cyber Security Trade Mission sponsored by the Foreign and Commonwealth’s Science and Innovation Network SIN’s). The Cyber Security Mission was led by Rajesh Parishwad, Science & Innovation Network and including mission delegates Dr Muttukrishnan Rajarajan, City University London and Peter Jaco, CEO OrbisIP. The purpose of the mission was to support SIN’s ongoing work in India and examine best working practices and co-operation between the UK and India with a focus on Security Technology research and commercialisation.

    The mission visited Indian cities Bangalore. Pune, Mumbai, Kanpur and New Delhi and mission delegates visited a number of large corporates, University and Government research departments including Tata Elxsi, the Society for Innovation and Development, Infosys Technologies Limited, Tech Mahindra, Rolta Technologies, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, IIT Kanpur, Prabhu Goel Internet Security Research Centre, IIT Kanpur campus,  the Data Security Council of India, Society for Electronic Transactions and Security and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDA-C) and the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi [IITD] and the Director, Technology & Operations for New Delhi Commonwealth Games 2010. The meeting schedule culminated in a meeting with Dr Gulshan Rai, Director General of the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-in) at the Ministry of Information Technology.

    The mission delegates spoke at two events in India; the Indian Merchant’s Chamber Mumbai Chapter’s seminar on “Fighting Cyber Terrorism, the UK Experience” - http://imcnet.org/aboutIMC_news.asp?newsid=174. 
    The mission was grateful for the input and support of Prof. N. Balakrishnan of the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore.
