OrbisIP closes funding round with Scottish Enterprise
OrbisIP has successfully closed a funding round with Scottish Enterprise under its matched funding programme. Existing investor and co-founder Imprimatur Capital also took part in the investment round as did management. In line with the terms of the investment, OrbisIP will be relocating its HQ and senior staff to Edinburgh to man the office.
"This is an exciting time for OrbisIP as the new investment capital will enable us to expand the business into Scotland and internationally." said Peter Jaco, OrbisIP CEO. "Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Development International have done a superb job in working with us to explain the benefits of relocating a fast track high tech knowledge backed economy business like OrbisIP to Scotland and we are looking forward to building our team and working with the world class Scottish based research community."
“Innovative companies like OrbisIP can make a direct and meaningful contribution to the Scottish economy” said Derek Shaw, investment manager, Scottish Enterprise. “The company’s global connections and deep understanding of the security technology space fit well with many of the university and corporate research programmes underway, and we believe OrbisIP’s capabilities in the commercialisation of early-stage technology will contribute to economic growth in Scotland. We wish the company every success.”
